Tonights Events:

Anne did homework.
Anne poured a couple glasses of wine.
Anne made dinner.
Anne poured a couple more glasses of wine.
Grandma declared she'd never ever vote for Sarah Palin in a presidential election.
Grandma got a very sad phone call that she made VERY funny.

Here's how THAT went down...
The phone's ring all over the house.  There are about eight wireless handsets around the house and each of them rings at top volume anytime we get a call.  On top of that delightful commotion, Grandma cries "I wonder who THAT could be!  I wasn't expecting a phone call!"   Every.  Single.  Time.

This particular time it was her good old friend Betsy.  Evidently Betsy hasn't been feeling too well, which Grandma illuminated by hissing at me, "She's sick!" and "She's really really sick!" and "She's been in the hospital for AGES!"  Topped off by "SHE'S DYING!"  Then she dug into her Pralines and Cream Haagen Dazs and gave Betsy tips about living on oxygen and who has the best prices on tubing.

Here's hoping Betsy's hard of hearing (and not actually dying.)
