Watch Out, Wal-Mart!

Every once in awhile it becomes obvious that our regular grocery stores will not meet our shopping needs and so, instead, we venture forth to bigger and better shopportunities: we go to Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart-itis set in early, in the list making stage, and escalated quickly.  We spent a ton of money on many things we didn't know we needed.

Because of our sizable list and Grandma's determination to accompany me on this errand I suggested that, rather than walk all over the biggest store on the planet, she try a motorized wheelchair.  It's probably the best idea I've had all year.  She had no clue what she was doing and couldn't understand why there were no pedals.  She got going WAY too fast and didn't know how to brake, almost knocking over the poor "greeter"!  We spent ten minutes in the lobby practicing how to stop and start and back up and turn, and yet for all the the practicing she still managed to have several near-collisions!  While she never actually hit a PERSON, she DID run into a shelf of discount q-tips in front of a young family.  Those poor kids!  This old lady with a basket full of prune juice and sanitary pads rams the shelves, then coos and has a chat.  They'll be scarred for life!
